There are very few moments in which I can be accused, rightly so, of horror movie heresy.  This flick is one of them.

Wohoo! Another Production In Association With KarmaCritic!

Hey people! I hear Espektro needs someone to score his short, and maybe someone to help him with the 3D animation too. Its in development with, hopefully, a grant from the Mexican goverment.

Lets show Hector some support!

I would help Hector score, but heck I don't even have a girlfriend of my own let alone find one for him!

Heheh, and wait till you see the script..

Hector, up to you, but... I think it would be cool to share the script man :) If you need me to translate it to english, it'll take me forever but I'll gladly do it, I think people would love to see that :)

woah! again

Mike! Dan! Arcade! thank you for offering a hand with this :) I really, really apreciate that, may God multiply his blessings into you with 100 sexy girlfriends and a truck full of beer.

If you want to know more about the story of this project, please  go to my blog and check out THE SECRETS OF THE ALCHEMIST series http://www.karmacritic.com/?q=node/2...

Marco, no problem man,  let me translate it! but I'll need you to check out and correct my errors, that will be much faster for you.

Okey, some of the things are needed:

Im in the search of a good 3d artist, Im not looking PIXAR level :) but someone capable of high polygon modeling and good managment of cameras and lights. The 3d parts of the short film are mostly buildings and camera travellings... oh! and the flying machine of the homunculus. Architectural and technical things... so if you know someone who is looking to build up his/her curriculum, this is a good chance.

The score...Im not worried about the score, I already have three musicians here LOL! :) Im thinking on something like Castlevania with funny twists ;) ... I think we can go slow here because that will be the last thing on the production schedule, but all the ideas are welcome at any time! :)

The storyboard will be uploaded as soon is ready to go, in PDF format of course. Also the story reel and some animation tests. This is going to be really cool !

Technical issue

Heya guys! just asking for a technical issue. We're about to start some animation screen tests and we need to know if we're using the right screen res. While I'd never done something for exhibition formats, I always worked with the 720 x 480 DVD res but I need to know the size in pixels for a movie screen.

Any one here knows? or we're fine with that size?

Thanks a lot guys!

2048 Horizontal

I really dont know much, but I found this wikipedia article, I hope it helps.

The resolution there for Digital Cinema is 2048 horizontal, vertical would depend on your aspect ratio, if you wanna go for widescreen (I think you should) then just go for 16:9 ratio.

Good luck man! Remember to post clips and updates, we wanna see this thing as it evolves! :)

Thanks man!

Very interesting article! :D

I use Premiere for editing and I found it doesn't support those sizes :( mmmm.... I asume there must be another way. Weird.
