Substantial Amount of EctoPlasm here!!
Man, you cracked me up! You came very close of classic status for me, I think with a little editing, you could submit this as a parody to Sci-Fi channel and chances are they'll take it. Not long ago, the Discovery Channel had a "spoof contest", but the really spoofable shows are in Sci-Fi. Last night I stayed late way past my bedtime watching a documentary on Goldfield Hotel, supposedly crammed full of ghosts. They did get shots of a flying brick, actually, that was pretty disturbing. In fact, I think I will use that location in my script. But my point is... 70% of it is night vision footage of guys walking around looking perplexed and asking "did you hear that?". Incredibly spoofable!
Man, 90% of the jokes cracked me up, that is a very high ratio for me. Very goofy humor, but it works. Seriously, I would try to edit it to the best 10 minutes, and send it to Sci-Fi. Really, send it to Sci-Fi, you never know! Failing that, send it straight to T.A.P.S. ... I think they'll love it!
My favorite one: "It looks like a lion" :)
The part I would probably edit out if I were to send this to Sci-Fi: the subplot about the christian girl leaving one guy for another :) Although the ectoplasm joke should stay, I loved it :)
Actually one of the guys in
Actually one of the guys in the movie (Ace) is a huge GhostHunters and TAPS fan. And we just recently made a video for him for the "Hunt for the next Ghosthunter" competition...which we used some footage from this in. So if he gets in (and he's actually a really good candidate), he's definately showing the boys this movie...so you never know. Should that fail, yeah, maybe I'll look into editing some of this down, getting rid of some of the copywrited images and whatnot.
*laughs* Yeah, if you watch durring the "substantial amount of ectoplasm" scene, you can totally see the other actor turning around trying not to laugh. There's alot of that throughout the movie. Thanks for watching!
I'm a TAPS fan too
Man, wouldnt it be neat if you get a mail from TAPS saying they enjoyed your movie. I think they would even play it to their team for laughs, or to reduce stress before an investigation. It'd be good television!!
You've made a really neat mockumentary here. Btw.... this gives me an idea.. but.... you know how dead easy would be to shoot some nightvision stuff around an empty house or something, and then have a man in a costume stand there looking spooky? Oh man, so much I can do with this idea. .. muahaha.. stay tuned...!
hAhA... :)
wut studios was this shot at?
Ha hahaha
absolutely funny
creative, original
I was laughing in an spontaneus way
like I didn´t in time
I am officialy fan of all your movies
;-)
Thanks guys! This was our
Thanks guys! This was our first attempt at a mocumentary...I think we learned that you should shoot everythign with two cameras, that way you can cut around a bit to control the pacing more. But over all it works okay....some good gags throughout.
And the "studio" is exactly what they say it is in the movie. The Lee Salisbury Theater...the main stage at our college. Though the haunted history was all made up.
