Good Job

Tj-

 Good job on this my
brother.  Good writing supported by solid acting.
You have hit a key that
is important in producing a short… Keep it simple.  You did a great job of
conveying a story that everyone can identify with.

I would think that the

I would think that the mother's gaze is right on. When the camera zooms in as she's 'laying it down' so to speak... who in your audience couldn't feel that? It's really quite amazing how so much can be conveyed in such a short film. Kudos to all involved in putting this together. Well done!

Good subject / Story line

TJ,

I liked the dialogue as well as the acting, especially the mother-in-law. Not sure about the editing and audio.

Good

I liked the acting in this.

What happened with the audio?

I noticed on some shots it was very bright outside and others it was dark outside.

Issues

Hey all thanks for your great comments and questions.

There was a few issues on set - the new Arri kit was more of a yellow than the white - and others that I won't comment about that stretched our time from the 4 hour window we had - to 8 hours - hence the big change in the lighting - windows are blown out because we couldn't use the Arri kit.I actually thought I did well on the editing - what we did have for footage and what come out I am sure many people would be surprised in the difference. Like you never notice the rosacea in Michaels face and that some of the dialogue between Michael and Mom were cut up sometimes right in the middle of dialogue and places somewhere else. Now I fully admit I needed someone to correct sound, lesson one - never have a director who hears lighting, light your audio - lol But seriously I know its a weakness. At this point I hope I have told a moving story in under 5 minutes.I have learned a lot from this movie - and while many people not involved in moviemaking have enjoyed it - I appreciate you all, fellow moviemakers for keeping me honest.

Thanks,
