Sedatives - by Insane Clown Posse

FableForge's picture

I found some public domain movies saturday, on archive.org, and made them into this video sunday. Used Adobe Elements and some After Effects. The song's by Insane Clown Posse; try to understand the lyrics -I tried to make them match the imagery. Here they are, beware though, they're pretty psycho, pun intended:

-------------------------------

I like to suffocate people and bite their necks!
They got me in a place that ain't like the rest-
And all you gotta do
is try to go for the neck!
And then sedatives... sedatives...
like that slow down..,
colors smear all around-
Weird sounds, you're into the mind of a clown
And the wicked ones somehow spinnin' around
Wheel me down the hallway, arms strapped down-
With sedatives!

Hangin' all out the neck from the IV
Sedatives for the lively study me,
ask me, no answer
I'm cuttin' your neck first chancer'!

White walls, white floors, small rooms!
With the sedatives, they become ballrooms!
Crows fly by my window slow...
Headed that way but lookin' at me though...

Sedatives
Sedatives me
Sedatives
Sedatives me
Sedatives
Sedatives me
Sedatives
Sedatives me

I'm an accident human malfunction at best-
And I'm lookin' at a scalpel sinkin' into your chest-
If I could only move, but them sedatives...
You know, they're saving your life, them sedatives!
Some of these other patients are strong as hell-
Suffocating one creep took me long as hell
But I took his sedatives,
well I thought they were sedatives!
But they were only medatives!

I fake pain, call em' over and play dead-
And yank a fistful of hair out the nurse lady's head-
High on sedatives again, put me in a tiny place-
Chin strap, muzzle over my face
I threw a guy off the roof first day they admitted me
I was sedated but that's when it hit me...
The only time I'm at peace is when I ain't even there-
God tell me why the fuck am I here?!

Want a lobotomy, shock therapy
Come clean me nurse
Take care of me...
I suffocated the last 2 they sent in alone-
They had to stick me in the chest with a shot of methadone-
Recreation time, wheel me to the courtyard-
Four guards in white and they might be important
And the sky is blue and I can watch trees grow
Watch leaves blow, until the sedatives show

Why I even have my very own room these days-
White straight jacket, padded walls and PJ's
But there's so many ways and every stunt I pull
I even slammed my own mouth down on the toilet bowl-
For attention, maybe, not to mention the sedatives!
Heard one guy say "why even let it live?"
There's probably no sedatives in Hell
And that's the only reason I'm alive still!

The witch is everywhere and I can see that y'all
Stabbed one nurse in the neck with a straw
A plastic straw, yeah it's flimsy and weak
But if you cork it with your thumb and hold it right... FEEK!

Would you believe me if I tell you...

That the image quality, resolution, and everything is like.. double in my computer, from the crap youtube turned it into??

I'll have to put it into revver, but in order to do that I need to square away the license with Pyschopathic Records, .. I'll work on that. But in the meanwhile, here it is... this is what I did with my weekend :)

I really appreciate any comments and feedback!!

Thanks, and you're welcome!

There's a lot of Public Domain material in archive.org. Most of it is from the 50s, but some of it is from people who really like the whole concept of http://www.creativecommons.org

And for sounds, you cant go wrong with

http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/

Those are my biggest repositories, in a pinch sometimes video.google.com will find neat things too if you add the keywords "public domain".

Glad you liked this!

Cool

I searched "drive in movies" and they have all those classic movie ads that they play during intermission.

Perlinger Archives

Check out the Perlinger Archives at www.archive.org

The Perlinger Archives is a project to archive all the lesser known films of the early 20s through 90s. Possibly even more recent than that. They want to preserve the films that would otherwise be lost. It's great stuff for documentary usage.

Hehe, yeah, they are a great resource :)

I'm doing something similar

I'm putting together a epheremal mix of stuff like this for a band. It's quite exciting, really. Yours is much cooler than mine is so far, but I have a ways to go. It's cool to see other people try this out, though. Very trippy. Not a fan of the music, but it's okay. The editing is top notch.

Well done.

FableForge's picture

Thank you!!

Man, I'm ever so glad you liked the editing, cuz thats the only thing that's mine in that whole thing :)

I'm really starting to think there's something wrong with me since all the comments here and in youtube say they dont like the music much, so why do I? I guess I just like how all ICP songs are mini stories.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your music video man, maybe we'll start a section for music vids if more people jump that bandwagon. As for being better, nah, like I said, neither the clips nor the song are mine, I just had to choose and trim and play with things till they fit, not too much of a merit, although it was fun as all heck!

Take care man, glad to see you back 'round these dark waters again :)

P.S. Tomorrow is Pirate Day, dont be scared if all the text suddenly changes... heheh..

Need Sedatives

The relationship between our personalities and our work is very mysterious. How does such a nice, upbeat chap as yourself come up with something that's so nightmarish and disturbing? This was certainly well cut, but it unsettled me- which I'm sure is just the effect you were going for. In fact, I think I need a sedative after watching it.

FableForge's picture

Biggest compliment I've heard in a long time!

Dave, thank you so much!!

Yes a thousand times, and a bucket o chum!

I've learned that people are like onions, and each layer is the opposite of the one before it. In other words, good guys are bad, but deeper down are good again, and so on and so forth for as many layers as Freud will dare peel :)

If things go well, I hope to be doing official videos for the Insane Clown Posse in the future..... this one was rather mild :) Why do I do it? I like the stories... and if my theory holds true, deeper down Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope are actually nice chaps :)

DawnAkemi's picture

Powerfully unsettling

Your images overlapping and fading together with the song lyrics touch rather deeply the dark place I happen to be living in today... great job!

I agree that all of us are filled with the variegated layers that make up the complications of being a human being. Artists can safely use the expressions of those darker layers to create art... its a great way to exorcise those demons.

Looking forward to more of your videos from Insane Clown Posse!

FableForge's picture

Will try my best!

I want to do "House of Horrors" with Chuck Jones style animation.. just dont know how.. and when I have a budget, I'd love to do "Oogie Boogie Man" with muppets.. kinda like when Peter Jackson did MEET THE FEEBLES :)

Thanks for the comment Dawn, i hope you find yourself in any place of your choosing soon, dark or light, and I'm honored this video connected.

Many greetings!

Wish I had time...

I wish I had time to make another violent, aggressive, destructive, psychopathic video for the Insane Clown Posse.

Is it normal to have these thoughts at 3:30 AM?
