Fred ClausTen months and one day ago, I worked a 13-hour day as an "upscale holiday shopper" on the set of Fred Claus. We filmed in front of the Wrigley Building next to the Michigan Avenue bridge. "Fred" (Vince Vaughn) is there to repo a car, but before doing so he yells out to a choir, some variation of: "Hey happy people! He sees you when you're sleeping? He knows when you're awake? Isn't that kind of creepy?" and he also lets a little boy in on some secrets about the *real* Santa. During this, I may be walking by in the background. Whether or not I am on screen it was a great experience and I look forward to seeing the film tonight with family and friends.

That must have been fun to be involved with.
What did you think of the movie?

Fun Fun
My day on set was a blast. Second time in the background for hours and hours with Vince Vaughn. (The Break-up being the first). His variations with each take make it continually entertaining.
Ignore most of what I said in the blog, the scene is very near the beginning and clipped to the choir singing while he tries to get in the car. I do believe I caught a glimpse of myself in the background. I have on a golden brown ski jacket.
I actually really liked the movie much more than I thought I would. It is what it is - a sentimental feel-good holiday film great for families.
Can't wait to see.
Been seeing the previews and remembering that you said months ago you did extra work for this film. Sorry you weren't in it more. I did some work as an extra in college for shows filming in Tucson. It is very time consuming, but fun.
Christmas Movie
My favorite Christmas movie of all time in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
I love the scene where the dad is upstairs, trapped in the attic watching home movies.
National Lampoon's Family Vacation is my favorite comedy of all time. I think I may have watched that more times than Star Wars.

I Agree...
It just doesn't seem like Christmas without Christmas Vacation. We laughed and grimaced as we watched because it seemed so familiar. Oh my God, my family and friends are so dysfunctional. My favorite part is the song with the animation during opening credits. I also love the huge knotted ball of lights. Who hasn't experienced that!
