ZOMBRAT!! I loved this!!! 10 stars!!
Man, this was genius!
Okay, good news bad news time:
Good news: its hillarious, its disturbing, its well-paced, well told, helluva concept, I love it love it love it... the bike helmet thing made me crack up laughing, so did the dog-cone thing... the laughing/moaning bit was just BRILLIANT... etc etc!
Bad news: where the hell are we going to find a child actor for this?????
Man, if this wins, my directing entry will be all animation, I can do that. But a real flesh living child to act this... hard to find my friend! And it -needs- to be a kid... it loses charm if its a grown up. I guess a dwarf would do? I dunno.
Anyway, bravo!
Now the little nitpicks: while I loved "living impaired", the "Loved Ones Protection Program" and the occasional references to a war seemed a little more backstory than this short needs. We really dont need a universe behind this story, the tale of crazy parents who keep their zombie child stands well on its own, no need for distracting from that. The lullabye song runs the risk of being too inside-jokey, but if you pull it off well, it works.
Okay. Let us officially celebrate the introduction of the word ZOMBRAT into the english language. Man, GREAT WORK!
Okay, I gotta rush up mine now...
Thanks!!
Well, it definately depends if you have a kid or have friends with a kid that would let you do this to them. I would back home, but here, I'd definately hace to post on Craig's list and cross my figners. I knew the kid would be a bit iffy for this contest...but...*shrugs* it was the first idea I was able to finish. I have a couple others I might still enter.
I actually added the war reference and the Loved Ones Protection Program as an after thought, thinking backstory might add a small layer a script like this might not have. What do other people think? Those references could easily be cut out.
Yeah, I was on the fence about the lullabye myself. I wrote another version that just concisted of her feeding him cute animals (seal pups and the like), but I thought I'd see what people thought of the self-referential one. Again, what do other people think?
Anyway, I'm just glad I got one finished. I thought my writer's block would win out. But somehow this popped in my head at 2 in the morning one night.
Heh, I have a nephew who is
Heh, I have a nephew who is almost three years old I've thought about using in a film, although I don't know how he would react to being caged in by an upside down playpen! Ha ha!
Maybe do a POV shot for that with sound effects of snarls.
I think this might be my favorite one so far. Ouchmouth, I want to try and direct this even if it doesn't win.
Haha! That kids would be
Haha! That kids would be awesome! Is that a plastic machette he's holding? Anyway, yeah, if it doesn't win, I'd love to see someone do it!! Keep in touch.

This short is priceless. I laughed hardest during the lullabye scene. Even though I have submitted my own script (and I hope I'm not pooching my chances here...), I think this would definitely be a fun one to shoot!
Great Script
I love the simplicity of the story
and the full potential like an original idea
amazing work really
Probably it.
I just feel that this might be the best candidate. Some room for style, and fairly simple to do logisticly. I do have a nephew who could work as the zombie child, but working with kids, ugghhhhh.

Oh man, I fucking loved this!!!! Please make this motherfucker
no matter what! this thing just all kind of rocks!
If it's just ridiculous, it's bad.
IF IT IS RRIIIDDDIICCUUULLOOUUSS, then it's okay.
Freaking HILARIOUS!!
I love this! Big laughs from me, man.
I think we can all relate on some level. I mean, who doesn't know a kid who acts like a little monster?
Funny! Clever! Great story!
