A Coupla LimericksThis is technically my second "vlog" which I am calling a "sketch vlog" (please see my youtube channel for my first one: http://www.youtube.com/user/DawnAkemi). I did the drawings and sound effects, plus figured out a bunch of little editing stuff... I did this on iMovie but am now motivated to get Final Cut Pro and learn more. I know you filmmaking snobs are gonna laugh at me but I am proud of this cause it took a wide variety of my skill sets to pull this together. I hope you find it funny!!! Also, there is some wierd visual effect that in the first couple seconds that is a youtube bug (its also on my other "vlog" and for some reason, the video cuts off two seconds early during the credit sequence). Got no clue... can anyone help... Marco? Please enjoy... and, as always, I welcome honest feedback!!

Power of Words
That one little word says a great deal... thanks Davonie!!!
Work That Cigar
It's like a kindergarten teacher giving sex education. Wonderful!
Still, that final slide has me wondering. "Thank you for w"... hmm, let's see... could it be "wanking"? "wetting yourself with laughter"? (Seems your work on that big cigar has turned my imagination blue.)
I also like your tousled hair look. All in all, this is a sequel that beats the original hands down. Vlog on, Mae West...
Using the Imagination
Thank you Dave! I was deliberate in playing up the innocence.
Perhaps its just as well that Youtube cut off part of my little end credit as it adds that "air of mystery" to my little video... like leaving the monster off screen can add tension and make a film more scary. People guessing what I tried to say is much more interesting than what I did say.
btw... it was "Thank you for watching"... see what I mean.
Very nice
Well you asked the good question, why do we need to clone animals? Whether you believe in g-d, Science, or whatever, you can always ask yourself this, if cloning were a good idea for mamals (or even plants) to reproduce wouldn't that be the way they developed.
Read "The Omnivore's Dilemma."
Hilary, oh my goodmness. Well this is a family friendly
Website, so I sHouldn't publicly OffeR discoursE on how I feel.
Don't know what is up with my keyboard.
Little encoding glitches, by your left ear at the opening shot, probably just an error, I thik you can select edit video and re-upload it.
Watch them teeth on them thar Phallic Symbol, don't you know anything?

Sometimes a little nibbling is just the thing...Mmmm!
Ummm, Steven... as I mentioned in my video, a cigar is just a cigar... where's your mind at.
My, my... such subtle emotions you have towards Ms. Clinton :-)
I have read "Omnivore's Dilemma" and loved it. That, and "Fast Food Nation" helped change the way I eat. American's really ought to learn about what goes into our food supply...
Thanks for your fun comment!!!
We are what we eat
Fast Food Nation - We are eating Shit.
Omnivore's Dillema - We are eating fossil fuels.
Unfortunately it never is cut and dried. McDonalds does a lot to help the Agro economy of areas where it opens restaurants.
Did you know that Mcdonalds isn't really in the fast food business? It is really in the Real Estate business, the franchises just pay for the real estate.

What a thought!
Steven says: "We are what we eat"
Hmmmm... I don't dare touch that one... too easy!
blah
boring. haha
EZEQUIEL
Blogs aren't really all
Blogs aren't really all that exciting anyway.
Dawn, make a movie.
Just kidding.
Actually, I sorta agree...
I would much rather make a movie.
Easier said than done.
Thanks for your feedback!
SHUT YOUR SMALL MOUTH, shorty.
If you want to offer USEFUL criticism....that would be great.
Otherwise, take your elevator shoes and go stand your soapbox on someone else's post.
haha
haha
that was useful information! boring means get a new act! Shorty? Me? What? haha
EZEQUIEL
Hang on, Dawn-y, hang on!
Wah wah, wahwahwah wah. Wahwah wahwahwah wah. Wah wah. Wahwahwah wah. Wahwahwahwahwahwah wah, wahwah wahwah, wah-wah wah; wah wah.
Now, when you run that through the MelioraEric translator - "I must apologize, for I still haven't seen this. But, I am more excited each time I see this thread on here, as it reminds me that I still have a fun video to view. Although, I'm also excited to see Dave's car video completely through. But if you hang on, I'll be sure to come back and give this a proper comment, when I've been able to see the full performance. I've heard there's nudity." haha
:-P
Eric
P.S. Oh, and just in case anyone didn't get it...the title above is a reference to "Hang on, Snoopy, hang on!"
I know where I stand next to cars... ;-)
Thanks Eric!! I'll be grateful when you find the time to check out my little video... and I will appreciate honest feedback, cause I want to improve.
Lightning McQueen vs. Queen Akemi
no problem... I'm always honest,
and cars really aren't a big deal to me.
They are just for getting me from here to there,
and women are good for... nevermind. :-P
I know what men think women are good for..
Thank you, Eric... I hope you continue to find your car useful...
HOW TO IMPROVE
How to improve....hmmm. I think you need a writer and slam on subjects that the audience can relate to. But relate to them on a simple level. don't be you, be the audience.
Be quicker also. Watch yourself, and the moment there is that split second where even you feel awkward watching, or dry, then that means you have to restructure your act.
I wasn't bashing you earlier by the way. And you know that my short little mouth always speaks the truth and I won't lie to anyone. It just kinda seems like you kinda go out and just do it without thinking about it. Trust me, I know...I've just gone out and done things also and you can tell I didn't structure the show. But when you do the work, structure it, test it, and do surgery on it and see what works and what doesn't--then guess what happens--you make some money and find an audience.
And it's funny that your only comeback is to make fun of me being short! that is always the last resort because you really can't slam me in other way. I think it's funny though. yeah, I'm short so what? I don't have a choice--but I'm a bad ass little motherfucker. lol
Hey, I just like to have fun. I don't take shit serious. But I do take acts of cinema serious. And if you are serious about your act, take the time to structure.
EZEQUIEL
Much more useful
Thank you EZ!
For the record, making fun of your being short isn't my only comeback... just the one I used and one I know you won't take too personally cause you've made fun of your height yourself.... I don't take this shit that seriously either.
A large goal with these videos is to have fun and learn. When that stops... so will the videos.
!~!
Me make fun of my height? I never do that! Want to know what's funny, I was seeing this model chick that was like 6 feet tall! haha----just imagine what we looked like walking alongside each other! The cool thing about it was that, I was just at the right height for...ahem---what's the best way to put it....titties in my face at all times? HAHA!
Anyway Dawn, I know you have talent. I think you should do more acting. I know these little pieces are experiments for you and that's cool. but your real talent is in acting. You're an actress! Act. Act. ACT!
EZEQUIEL
Cool EZ... ;-)
I appreciate that EZ! I'm doing lots of acting too. I just joined an improv troupe that performs all around L.A., including this Thursday night... if you wanna make the long trek to Culver City for the show, I'll send you the info! Friday nite too!
But, my interests and creativity span many areas and I like to play with other stuff too. All kinds of activities feed the actor. You never know, in Hollywood, what little unexpected thing can take you somewhere.
Would've loved to seen you with that model... when you initially talked about your height difference and where you would bury your head, my imagination went a bit lower down than the tits...
YOU'RE TOO FUNNY!
I'm not that short! shit! lol!
It would be cool to see you, maybe soon when I'm out there I'll show up. Just let me know when and where. To make it easy for everyone, just do a blog post about your shows with all the info.
HEY! Why didn't you go to my birthday party?
EZEQUIEL
So you know then...
So you know then, that I was going to say...women are good for comfort when one is down, needing to talk and that they make for great companions; and that being able to share life with them makes life all that much more worth living??
Cause that's what I was going to say. :)
WOMEN ARE GOOD FOR...
Just listen to the song by the Beastie Boys 'Girls'
EZEQUIEL
haha
Nice reference there!
Ez wanna be married with Dawn
Come on boy if you like her just tell it to her
you both living in a pirate way sailing sailing
under the stars
when I was in college I got a room mate
now that I am in Karma I got some Rum! mates
ha ha ha, Ez, Dawn (just kidding)
Dawn really funny watching you in a videoblog, videoblogs are not the same
movies are for you, keep more relax in your eyes if you continuing working that kind of stuff
;-)
Interesting observation
Thank you Victor!!!
I know what you are referring to with the eyes. Yes, there is something to engaging the camera as opposed to engaging and working off a real person... the energy is just different. The whole "relaxation around the eyes" issue is something I've been dealing with when having to "slate" for the camera during auditions... I keep playing with techniques and I've come a long way with this, but I guess there is always more to learn.
As to EZ... if he wants to marry me, he better not be SHORT with the wallet!!!
SHORT WTH THE WALLET!
What the fuck is this marriage shit! haha
Dawn...take a number. Ezequiel is on the hot list!
EZEQUIEL
My two cents!
I think everything was carefully planned, the jokes, the drawings, everything! You designed this very carefully, and that's a good thing! But at the same time, please dont take this the wrong way, but just my impression: I think you need to enjoy yourself more while doing this, improvise more, go with the flow, be relaxed, dont try too hard.... confidence is contagious, dont even think people will judge this later on, just do it for yourself because its fun, and whoever likes it, good, and whoever doesnt... well, now they know what to do with a cigar ;)
Its a bit like stand-up, do it cuz its fun for you, first and foremost, let your whole body language, tone of voice, etc... pass the message to the audience that they're welcome to join in your fun, if they want, but you dont -need- their approval, not even a little bit, in the first place. I think thats the trick of all successful comedians: confidence :)
Best of luck! And looking forward for the next one! :)
Why, that's a whole nickel's worth!
Thank's alot Marco!
I think I understand what you are talking about... I am struggling with the idea of "character voice", even though the "voice" and "character" in this instance is myself. I don't feel like I have this "voice" yet. The only stuff that was scripted were the limericks... everything else was improvised, though I had an idea of where I was headed, made a choice with my attitude, and knew that I would end with the quote and my cigar moment. I am having fun and am surprised that's not coming through. I am truly doing this for myself... honestly, I see no other reason to do it. This excercise is an unlikely marketing bid for acting. But you never know...
I related the following to Steven Gladstone in a PM who had a similar note for my vlog (great minds and all that... ;-): I was watching some early episodes of both Frazier and Seinfeld and was struck by how restrained and almost stiff the performances were in those early shows vs. a decade and many emmy nominations later. These very talented actors hadn't found the "voice" of their characters in those very early shows... this is discovered through playing and working off each other, and with time and experience... and, yes, the confidence that a succesful and popular network series can give.
Part of my challenge, too, is that I am doing everything! I've never done any of this stuff before. This is all a big learning experience to be thinking about the lighting and camera (even if the camera is just a webcam) and sound, the staging, my performance, hair, makeup, etc., the "story", the takes and editing, and then cobbling it all together. Perhaps the newness of all these considerations is also restraining my performance. I have enormous new respect for the craft of filmmaking from this little endeavor alone.
Hopefully, in not too much time, I will find this "voice"... and it will ground me. And more practise with all the filmmaking aspects will give me more confidence too...
In any case... this was very thoughtful feedback, indeed! I appreciate it.
Learning
What a wonderful word!!! Dawn!!
I agree with Marco
Karma Rocks!!
Learning is fun!!!
Here is one of my favorite quotes, Victor:
"When you learn you're always learning, you're liberated!"
Yes, Karma rocks!!!
THE SCHOOL OF EZEQUIEL
Here is something I do Dawn...it's very simple...listen closely and trust me. And this is why I probably even have a career in Hollywood--
DON'T THINK. FEEL.
Go with your feelings and trust them. don't question your feelings. go with the heart. if you go with your mind, you lose it cause the mind thinks to much. The heart feels.
Here is an analogy. Have you been dating someone and you start thinking about whether this person is into you, fucking someone else when they're not with you etc? Then you get all wrapped up in those thoughts? But your heart is telling, "fuck it, leave it be done" The heart is right, the mind is trying to make sense of it.
I never do anything unless I feel it--or has the potential to make money to move on to another project, get some more studio meetings and date hotter girls than the hot ones I was seeing before. haha
Here is something I do with my actors when working on something. We spend hours on the phone talking about the character. Who they are. Where they eat. How they sleep. Who they fuck. Why do they wear what they wear. I mean, everything about them. We make up stories about them. We get inside a person that does not exist.
If you're creating a character, don't think from the outside in. Think from the inside out.
After you do that, then you add your own flavor to it, which is you, the person portraying this whatever certain character.
Juan Riedinger. Awesome actor. The billing star of my film. We spent two months talking almost every day about his character prior to lensing. And now, he leaps off the screen. Incredible what study does.
It's called commitment.
You have to commit to the character. You have to commit to yourself. You have to commit to the audience. The audience is so important, cause that's who it's for. To dazzle them and entertain them. It's a show!
EZEQUIEL
Feelings are Extremely Important!
I agree about "DON'T THINK. FEEL."... I apply this to acting and life choices all the time.
My acting craftual techniques are primarily "inny-outty" as opposed to "outty-inny" (though I use a blend of both)... so you and I are on the same page there too.
I totally get commitment.
And I do think you are on to something when you observe that I need to make more specific, detailed choices with my vlogging "character" and that this will help me with my "voice".
Thanks for the feedback EZ!
Oh, and I'm very sorry I missed your party but I had made prior plans. I'm sure it was a blast!!!
Cracked me UP!!
This vlog is pure fun! It's fun of the funnest kind... DIRTY fun!!
Phuking, sucking, and farting! I can't think of any better elements for a Limerick vlog! I want more! more! More!
Warmed my HEART!!
As always, Cici, you touch me deeply!
xoxoxo!
A Limerick
There once was this little man EZ
Whose movies were all really sleazy
The people who thought
That EZ was hawt
Were his friends, Dopey, Grouchy, and Sneezy
Cici's on a limerick roll!!!
Here's her brilliant offering from my "Limericks" page at Youtube:
There once was a Hottie named Dawn
Whose cartoons were very well drawn
Her humor was bawdy
Her thoughts oh-so naughty
She liked her meat naturally spawned
Cici's got her rhyme on... watch out!!!
A Limerick by Editor Eric...
There once was a limerick by E-B,
Who wished to impress Mrs. "Ci-Ci"
Her beauty's astounding,
His thoughts are abounding:
"Ellie could never go out with me."
Ah, but there is Miss. Dawn Akemi,
So he will ask her quite simply,
She is not taken -
A move he's makin':
"Will you please go out with me?"
Golly Eric...
Oh Eric, I'm really quite flattered.
I'm surprised ole me even mattered.
But I'm hiding my heart,
And holding it apart,
From a world that would see it shattered.
Gee, Thanks Dawn...
For now my tiny heart's just been crushed,
Carelessly aside, I've just been brushed.
Now I will cry all night,
About my awful plight.
Down the drain, my hopes have all been flushed!
Awww, Eric
Aw Eric, it's not about you,
That my heart is so very blue.
Please don't be sad,
Or I'll feel bad,
For hurting one that is so true.
YOU JUST GOT ASKED OUT ON A DATE!
Eric asked you out on a date
probably cause you're a woman of high rate
I'd ask you out, but you're not Ezequiel's type
I don't believe all the hype
Dawn is pretty and kinda hot
But she made out with Dave Williams, and now she's gonna rot
haha
EZEQUIEL
Akemi's Choice
There once was an actress for hire
Who was quite the object of desire.
Of her choices she'd speak:
"It's Dave, Eric or Zeke.
Shit! A cryer, a tryer or a liar!"
DAVID WILLIAMS......
Dave is brave! I respect that! funny shit!
Dave Williams is so brilliant and talented!~~~~Oh crap, I forgot, I'm a liar! haha
________________
Dave wishes he could out do Ezequiel
As far as talent and career, Dave is an easy kill
One is younger, the other is old
And this is not a fairytale, but a story well told
And if one is a liar, check IMD pro
Then you know who will go
Ezequiel flips scripts and always has a hot chick
What team do you want to be on, take your pick
Ezequiel is Hollwyood, Williams is blahblahwood
And if he could he would
Ezequiel is bored with this, and will take off as he should!
LOL!
EZEQUIEL
Who's whose type?
EZ likes to swagger and bluff
Cause his stature ain't the right stuff.
The attention I give Dave
Makes him sputter, rant and rave,
From jealousy its sure enough!
haha
LOL!

Dawns videos are cool and funny
And she's as cute as any ol' bunny
She says EZ ain't got the right stuff
And everything he says is a bluff
EZ should get mad huff and puff
Instead, he's laughing cause he knows she wants some
But EZ would rather drink some RUM RUM!
EZEQUIEL
HAHA!
I almost fell off my chair! LOL
I got one too!

Cici is hot

Deflowering Cici
Dawn, can you feel Cici's Virgin Vlog coming on? I think your limericks have inspired her. That Sleazy EZ piece is a gem!
Her rhymin', her timin'
will rupture that hymen
This virgin is vergin'
On vloggin' fer sher!
Cici's Well Hung
Oh that Cici's got so much going for her:
Cici's a rhyming machine
Cause talent lives in her genes!
She likes to scratch ass,
And other things crass.
With limericks, she's crowned queen!!!
Awww... shucks!
Dawn knows just what to say to make me feel all soft inside! Dawn, I kiss you all over!
I'd post more limericks, but I haven't had much sleep lately, and my eyes are starting to dart around all crazy on their own... Body and Brain are shutting down now... entering sleep mode.
Night y'all
Crazy Eyes
I haven't had much sleep lately, and my eyes are starting to dart around all crazy on their own...
Ah, Crazy Eyes...
Part of the NymphoNinja98 Action Figure Series...
...each made out of a single piece of string.
Crazy adorable!!!
I love those dolls... I want one!
Warrior Woman
This one, Dawn, reminded me of you:
She's adorable too!
It's interesting you would pick her, Dave, cause I agree with her philosophy: some battles are worth fighting and some aren't and I am very, very careful in the choosing. This is true in both my personal relationships and my career. It's a profound and important discernment. I'm glad you understand that about about me.
MmmmMmmM... sweet Cici kisses... mmMMmMmm!
I sing you a lullaby and stroke your hair 'til dreams of my chocolatey kisses sweep you away...
I can't wait to read more of your limericks!!!
WHAT IN THE...? LOL
Blah!
EZEQUIEL
A Limerick for Ezequiel
It was, "A Dark and Stormy Night";
A film of panoramic sight.
EZ's the director,
Who wants his sweet nectar:
Dead women who look ghostly white!
THE GHOST WITH THE MOST!
I don't know about making out with ghosts...well, I sort of have. You'll know soon what I'm talking about!
There is a secret nobody knows about because...it's a secret.
EZEQUIEL
Here are some actual limmericks
There was a young lady named bright
Whose speed was much faster than light.
She set off one day in the usual way,
and returned the previous night.
OR
There was a young man from Nantucket
Whose d*ck was so long he could suck it.
he said with a grin as he wiped off his chin
if my ear was a c*nt, I'd f*ck it.

I was very close to introducing my limericks with that "Nantucket" one....
YEAH!
