They'll be calling a shortlist of people they want to audition with each other sometime in the next several weeks, and out of those, pick a final three. They won't be notifying people who weren't picked... I guess they want to keep us on tenterhooks so we tune in for the show... like On The Lot!

Hey, Dawn, there are things I don't get either. I don't get women's obsessions with shoes, or clothes in general for that matter. Many women seem to look on stiletto heels for instance, with lust, the same way fellas do at cars or fighter jets.

And I CERTAINLY don't get how any human gets excited about computers- 'cos this mo#$erf&cking sh*#box I'm attempting to use right now is making it nigh impossible to post new comments..aaaAAARgh G@DdA*#!t!!

Ok, I just wondered...I'm not familiar with "Top Gear", so I didn't know if this was like a contest for a "reality show", or you were auditioning for a spot on a "real show". ;) Either way, you know you'd have my support.

 
Sorry it took me so long, lately its so hard to find time in the day, but I saw your entry a couple days ago Dave, and I was floored. You have a natural talent for these kind of things, I could definitely see you week after week as the show's host. I dont know what the actual show will be about, but you totally sold me as a host of this little documentary about going really fast in one's car :)

Very good editing, great script, I've no idea how hard it was to get those shots of the car in motion (with another car, I presume, but that fast??) and everything else.. its all quality ... very good job man!! 

Thank you, Marco! It was filmmaking from the heart. Which always makes it easier to do one's best.

Out of professional respect, I should reveal one filmmaking secret: those external cutaways of driving really really fast were double-speeded in the editing. My 70 year old father, who was driving when I shot them, couldn't believe what an aggressive maniac it made him look! 

Here, coincidentally, are some V8 cop-spec versions of my Holden Commodore: the ones I dread seeing reflected in my mirror when enjoying myself at speed...

Police: the only guys who get to drive fast cars as fast as they'll go.
