Aliens in our midst!!
Wow, I loved the trailer.
Indy has been one of the figures that .. well, raised me. Together with STAR WARS, maybe a couple BACK TO THE FUTURE... these are the movies that helped make me who I am, my "superego" like Freud would say. Interesting that Lucas or Spielberg have always had a hand in them...... this could get complex if I continue with the father themes and Freud. But I wont! Instead, I offer this bit of knowledge
http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/fe...
The basic story goes that Lucas conceived Indy kind inspired by the Jungle serials of the 30s, but now its 20 years later, so what's the replacement for Jungle Serials? 50's sci-fi, of course. It seems Lucas wanted to bring some element of Sci-Fi to Indiana Jones for the longest time, and Ford said he hated the idea, so did Spielberg, but then Lucas pulled a "my way or the highway" stand, and so it stood, for hell, how long has it been since THE LAST CRUSADE? So finally, Ford and Spielberg realized they're not getting any younger, and figured this movie either gets made now, or never, so they folded and went Lucas's way.
And yup, indeed-di-o, if you pause the trailer at the 1:26 mark, you'll find all the clues you need to confirm that indeed, Indy is dealing with Aliens now. Sci-fi 50's.
We'll see. I love these series.. they're like family to me. I'm SOOO crossing my fingers Lucas wont do to Indy what he did to STAR WARS with Episode I.... .. I'll stand in line to watch this movie.
Not as easy as it use to be...
Damn, I wanted to be the one to post this link. Oh well...it is a remarkably well put together trailer....the whole shot of the hat and the silloutte....pure Spielberg genius.
As for the aliens, though Lucas has said it will have sci-fi elements...just because we're in roswell, doens't mean actual aliens...though I don't mind. For once (since the original Star Wars anyway) I agree with Lucas....since the film's set in the 50's now...homaging the classic 50's b-movies kinda makes sense. Besides, in a film universe where the power of God can melt your face or heal gun shot wounds, aliens aren't a huge leap.
I am kinda worried about the CG and stunts I saw though....that whip action was pretty borderline too much for Indy...but as long as it doesn't get much bigger than that...and they still have months to render the CG shots...so I'm ready! Bring it Jones!
Roswell New Mexico. Oh boy.
Roswell New Mexico. Oh boy.
Close Encounters Of The Indy Kind
I'm sure my Dad will love this film, since Harrison Ford is just about as old as he is!
As for the Indiana & Aliens combination... hmm... I'm nervous. I'd trust Ford & Spielberg's story instincts these days over Lucas's any time. But like Marco, I grew up on the Raiders franchise, so I simply can't not go!
INDIANA JONESSSSSSSSSSSS!
Raiders of the Lost Ark is my all time favorite film! And when I saw the trailer for the new one, I got all emotional. haha
I still remember when I was a kid and watched Raiders, and my mom covered my eyes when the Nazi guy's faces melted off. I remember seeing temple of doom with all of my cousins, and I remember seeing crusade sitting in the theater wide eyed at the spectacle of Indiana Jones. I seriously am serious about being serious when I say that I seriously cannot wait to see part 4.

Memories....
I remember after seeing TEMPLE OF DOOM that I had to pray to God for forgiveness for about a month for having seen those heart-pulled-out-of-chest pagan rituals. Heh. I was seriously conflicted.... I must have been.. what, 8 years old maybe? Something like that.
Heh.. man..... wow.
And what did you did wen
And what did you did wen you played Mortal Kombat? :D :D :D :D :D

I LOLed too!
I was much older, obsessed with electricity powerz, so I had to play Rayden :) But nah, I never liked MK, I was a Street Fighter kind of guy :)
Plus, at 8 years old I was still soft in the head... perfect time to see Indy, and Vader :)
Indy VS. Aliens
I just hope it doesn't turn out looking like this...
I LOLed :)
What a great clip!! I wish they had somehow done night-for-day in some shots, but its really very well edited!! I guess it would have been too much to ask. Very good find man!
;-)
Glad you liked it! As I told the guy who did it over on YouTube:
"That'll teach 'em to use the same canyon for two different movies!"
(Both scenes having been shot in 'Star Wars Canyon' in Tunisia, which is why it cuts so well.)
I'm 10 again...
I'm in the same tone than most of you, guys. Indy and Star Wars are like the lost chapters of the Bible to me, and brings me good family memories (because my older brothers actually lived that era, they just passed me the torch lol, I was just 3 wen Return of the Jedi screened).
I'm sure Lucas won't spoil the series as he did with Star Wars prequels (but I love Revenge of the Sith, in my opinion you can just skip away Episode I and II...) because the formula doesn't works without Spielberg and Ford's agreements, but I'm crossing my fingers on Ford's words: It's gonna be a DYNAMITE movie.
LOL I remember I was afraid to watch Raiders wen I was like... 5 or something, because I saw photos of the mummies chamber scene and the ghosts of the Ark... everything changed with the Nintendo I think, now I see all the VFX on matrix binary code... inocent times.
Aliens? so what? Indy's world rolls on the paranormal stratos! I'm sure we won't see anything cheesy or campy. In the original 3 Spielberg played so elegant with the B movie factor.
Also, I have this feeling that Irina Spalko will be a memorable foe for the series, she seems to have a smashing carisma on screen. Cool for Cate Blanchet :)
BTW, talking about aliens, would be nice to see another 'easter egg' like C3PO and R2D2 in Raiders.

I saw today
again the trailer and a clip from the movie

I like Captain Peceno so much, that if I had the chance to create a very cool vampire Dracula character for a blockbuster movie, I'd name him "Peceno" :)

Set?
We saw this set being constructed last spring and the debate has
gone on since of whether it is for Indy 4 or National Treasure 2:
