A Festival Outside the Box, No Indiewood here... I hope

tamrey's picture

Hello Everyone,
I posted a contest video submission a few days ago, but wanted to give some more specific info about the festival-contest we are part of.
"Johnny Appleweed" is an indie feature that is part of the first "From Here to Awesome" distribution and discovery festival. It is a visionary endeavor really pushing indies toward DIY distribution. ( sidebar: I found this to be a really helpful DIY article http://chirls.com/ )
The festival is committed to helping small films find their audience and make some cash. Winning films are screened at a variety of venues in a variety of cities with the filmmakers actually keeping some of the revenue from these showings, kind of a DIY distribution jumping off point. Films win by generating the most interest, which means people checking out its internet sites. So... If you are interested in supporting "Johnny Appleweed" here's how:

1. If you only do one thing... vote our video awesome at

http://fromheretoawesome.com/johnnyappleweed/

2. If you're extra generous... Spead the youtube sugar. That means view, RATE high, FAVORITE, COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE here

3. If you'd be so kind... Befriend us on social networking sites. http://www.myspace.com/johnnyappleweedthemovie oh yeah and facebook. Sending out Myspace bulletins, telling friends about the video would also be super helpful.

I've had a few folks asking how this works, so hopefully this clarifies any confusion. Feel free to drop me a line with any questions about the festival.

Thanks everybody for your precious time!

Tami
