Okay...
Mr. Norman, I added (Inside) to my Que and moved it to the top. Not a big gore fan though, even though I liked the Hostel flicks.
Just watched "Edmond" screenplay by Mamet. Have you seen this yet?
Watch it if you have not. I have the trailer below, but don't watch it unless you have seen the movie, it gives too much away.
If you're not a big gore
If you're not a big gore fan, I don't know but you might want to skip over this one. I didn't have a problem with it, but I have a strong feeling that the squiemish will be quite appalled. It's no fucking Hostel either.
Fuck, even Bigsugar said he wasn't 100% comfortable with it and he's been watching these kind of movies longer than I have.
global warming karo syrup gore fest
No, you have me interested now, I must watch it :)
I should receive it by this weekend.
Well I can tell you this,
Well I can tell you this, its a gore movie with heart.
Girl Watcher
I missed this one. This is, the fuckin' studios seem to
think that keeping Mamet's movies a secret is the best thing to do with
them. I didn't even know he was doing Redbelt until about two weeks before the fucker came out.
I
have to back up Brendan on this one. You put this flick in front
of your wife and I can promise you a moratorium on pussy for at least a
few weeks, man. I am so not kidding with you. it's rough as hell, man, and there's just no let up.
If it's just ridiculous, it's bad.
IF IT IS RRIIIDDDIICCUUULLOOUUSS, then it's okay.
what about blind eye?
what about blind eye?
Are you reviewing this on
Are you reviewing this on the radio show this coming Sunday? I think I might call in if so.
Turn The Lights On
Turz is up this week. Don't kow if I'll be on the show at
all. Seems like you guys could use a break from my fuckin'
horseshit for at least one week.

Crash meets The Hand That Rocks The Cradle meets Hostel
This movie was very good. 5 out of 5 stars. This movie knew what it was doing and never let you forget it.
Brendan, any more like this? I would have never rented this.
Almost struck me as crime drama/thriller.
I don't mind visceral or over the top violence when it is crucial to the story. In this case it worked.
Some of the most believable acting I have seen in a while. Beatrice Dalle did remarkable, so did Ms. Paradis. I love seeing crazy on screen. In this case, I liked the attacker's crazy better.
Sadly, women actually do this to other women in real life.
Very good blood and gore effects.
Kinda strange but I watched A Mighty Heart with Jolie right after this one, she plays a pregant woman in that. So, needless to say, some of the images transfered from one flick to the other. You know what I mean?
My only problem SPOILER:
Is the attacking woman was way too good of a killer, she was like La Femme Nikita meets Tomb Raider, but I can move past that ;)
That woman is actually
That woman is pretty famous in France actually.
As for movies like this? Right now Inside is pretty much in it's own fucking league. The previous horror/gore movie out of France that got a lot of buzz was High Tension. It was really gorey, has Muse on the soundtrack, and the first time I viewed it I didn't like it because of the Fight Club style twist ending. But after a second viewing it grew a little on me. However, it is nowhere near as good as Inside. Nor as relentless and emotionally involved.
Another recent horror film out of France is Them.

Its a suspense film, not a gore flick. It was extremely well made and had great cinematography + the scares were great. Once again, the ending ruined the whole fucking movie. Great movie with a shitty ending I guess. I can't forgive this movie because what they did with the antagonists is just not fucking scarey.
Only recent horror movies I really like besides this one that I can name are The Descent, The Red Shoes (korean film), and [Rec] which isn't even out yet. But no, none of these are anything like Inside. But if extreme gore is all you're looking for, your best bet would be to rent Lucio Fulci's The Beyond.

It's true. I've read a couple of news articles in the past that have read exactly like this film's synopsis.
Here are some interesting
Here are some interesting tibits on the future works of the two directors of Inside (Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury).
Originally they were signed on to do a remake of Cliver Barker's Hellraiser but then suddenly walked from the project. Now they are in discussion with Dimension to do a follow up to Rob Zombie's Halloween remake.
