Bravo!!!

Though subtitles would have increased my thrill.

You movie is exceptionally well shot.  The Actors, Professional?  Surely.

And I loved the music, subtle as it was, that's always my favorite.

Great job.

Are you kidding me!!!

Your film looked just as good as anything I have seen in the theatres.  And you say:  "it is what I can do whitout any budget" (?)

Victor,  I am blown away by you.  But you know what?  You came to the right place.

We're building this site to be the strongest community of filmmakers online.  I would love to see more of your work uploaded here...

Thanks so much

I am thrill about this site

I know that only filmmakers could understand how difficult it s to makes movies

without budget, we have to remain together to help each other, for example Objects has being well accepted for many people

but I did it in three days, becouse the Taxi driver (real one), can´t help us for no money more, I loose some sequences

but I edit with what I have, for that the credits ending explaining the story, I have prepared a chroma for the door (flash Back) , inthe plaque you could read the name of the two persons living in this house

after finish the flashback from the mirror come down and we discover that the name of the one of the person who lives in that house it is the taxi driver becouse we can see his license card with his name

after that when  he came to the tombs he read the name and it is the same that we could see before at the plaque...

there is no production budget.... you have to try to do whatever to get a short movie with what you have...

 thanks

This is one of the best movies I've seen here in KC so far...

Make that.. one of the best movies I've seen here, and in On The Lot... I'm talking of close to 700 movies, which I've seen, I would easily rank this one in the top ten.

Everything about it was well executed, professional, solid. Acting felt real, genuine, the pacing was never too fast nor too slow, the rear view mirror gimmick was never overused, .. at one point, I found myself looking at the clock wondering how could anyone bring a satisfying end with so little time left, and yet it did.

I had the privilege of enjoying the spoken words here, since spanish is my native language. Very very good work, I'm honored victor peceno is a member of our community.

I'm adding this film to my favorites, the second one I do this to.

I agree Marco. If I could get to half Victor's level

If I could become half as good of a filmmaker as Victor, that would be a great acheivemnt for me.  His work is right up there with any professional's that I've ever seen, and I've seen a few movies.

I told him the only thing that could have increased my thrill would have been subtitles.

Very good work Victor.  Excellent!

Victor, I meant it man!

(For our english speaking friends: First I was telling Victor how much I loved his work, then he was saying thank you, and that he is developing a new project that he would love to shoot in America, and I told him that I'm not the most connected person here in KC, but there are producers like Brad Youngs or Ezequiel who are, and would maybe like his work when its ready to show :) )

Excellent, excellent film.

Excellent, excellent film.  The only ting I was going to say you should change is the ending...why put the dramatic reveal in text?  But then I read that you were forced to because of your actor.  So in that regard it's even better than I thought....way to use what you got in the can and still come out with a top notch film!  Extremely proffesionally lit, shot, and acted!

victorpeceno's picture

Thanks

Thank you very much for your comment

I am accord with you, even during some mounths it was without text at the end...

but many people dosn´t understand the story, it is one of my first short movie

and I need all the people to understand what I am telling...

it was without any budget and we have to do everything in a hurry becouse we have no

productions values...

 :)

cici's picture

Great story, Victor!

This is a wonderful film!!  Very touching and very well done.  I loved the overall tone.

Production values are outstanding... I have no idea what you're talking about in that regard.  The pictures are beautiful, the sound and music were top notch.
My only suggestion would be to tighten up some of the editing by a frame here and there... not too much as to change the feel and the pace, though.
victorpeceno's picture

Thanks Cici

I appreciate you like the movie

if you like the production values it is ok we have to improve everything during the filmming

editing changes are welcome victorpeceno@yahoo.es

Bittersweet and heartfelt

This story is one for the heart! I love the use of mirror as metaphor. The atmosphere of your film is wonderful... i felt the characters' pain. Your film is an homage to life's serendipitous mysteries and miracles.

victorpeceno's picture

First Time

It is first time that someone talk about (the pain of the characters)

it was long time talking with the actors

about why so many pain

You got it!!!

DawnAkemi's picture

on pain

I'm surprised more of your viewers don't mention the pain of the characters... but then, perhaps its understood subliminally for many.

I would enjoy and be totally engaged in those long conversations you had with your actors, Victor, and I would enjoy working on this kind of story!!!

Goodluck at the L.A. Shorts Film Fest!!!

victorpeceno's picture

Yes

I am sure they understood subliminary

perhaps you mentioned that becouse you are an actress

and you are more concerned about the acting

I am not always having long conversation with actors this time I did

The way I like to works it is letting the actors do

after fixing the characters with them in a first conversation

if they got it, that´s rigth, even I am sure many times the actors have better senses about how the character have to move and grow up, and I become an observer of their talent ...

I would like to work with you

you are very talented I love your acting at Hammer

DawnAkemi's picture

mutual admiration

Why thank you, Victor... I would like to work with you too!

I really like your description of your process with actors... that's awesome. It sounds like you really trust your actors. Too many directors hear the line reading in their heads... one of my writer/director friends actually asked me how he should direct actors so that they speak his words as he hear them in his head: we then had a long talk about actor process and interpreting script.... I'm still not sure he found agreement with me.

Its true that I am very aware of the acting, characters, and story in a film (over, say, the lighting, camera angles, picture composition, and sound design, etc.). But, I think my observation of your character's pain gets into why I became an actress: it is because I am fascinated by human behavior... it is an endless universe of study, and, of course, inherent to the process of acting.  It is a which-came-first-the-chicken-or-the-egg discussion.

Smile

Looking Forward

Then we must to work together when we have the oportunity

Your friend are rigth, always we have a movie in our minds

but Actors too, the most important it is to know what works for the movie and get the better from every people involved with

also there are Directing techniques, I like specially  asign Dramatic History and Scenic Task

it is the Train of thinking

actors must to think better than act, becouse we all act after thinking...

looking forward to work with you

as well as looking forward to go to LA for my next work

The part with the mirror at

The part with the mirror at the beginning, recording the reflection of the characters talking about the enviorment looked amazing. How'd you do that?

By the way, this is a great short film. I really dug it. Going straight to my favorites list on here.

victorpeceno's picture

Thank you Brendan

this part of the short was the most difficult to do

even my DP in ths movie David Morales told me that it is not possible to do

but I told with him that the rear view mirror will act like our eyes and then I was looking for the position of the mirror and the distance between the actors it was very hard to do

looking for the distance between the camera and the mirror at the same time that looking for the distance of the actors with the mirror and the actors between them selves

even I have to figure out in my mind how many step could do the actor that is in movement

to fix that with the editing what people see in this shoot are some step that semms like the actor is in the normal distance from everything in our set but it is not true is just a visual effect I am very proud of getting that shoot absolutely well done it is not easy at all

thank you very much for the comment
