Hard Realities

OK. I’ve had to face some hard facts. We’re NOT READY to shoot in July. The script is not ready. The first draft is barely done and I haven’t had enough time to let it marinate to figure out what the rewrites should be. And all of the other gazillion things that need to be done like contracts, planning, locations, etc are not finished either.  Luckily Jeff Current and the band Seven Story Drop (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm... ) will still be available for the revised schedule. I feel so lucky for that. I do hate postponing it. It makes me have a huge ball of nasty stuff in the pit of my stomach.  But I have to trust that it will all work to the best for the movie. So we are now set to shoot in January of 2009. The good news is that now we won’t be shooting in 105 degree weather. Which is so often what it’s like in Dallas in July. On to the next phase!

FOCUS

Shoot when you're ready. When you feel comfortable. Then when you feel good, rock it!

The script "In Development"

Once you are happy (it's "done" in your mind) with your first draft, register it with WGA east or WGA west (22 bucks-they give you a number), and send it to people (that are willing and able) to read the script for you to tell you whats wrong with it.

Don't worry about "pre-production" until the script is finished and/or "great" or you are done getting feedback.

On Set Chicago (Jan) may be a good resource.

Thanks to all

Hey John Meredith. Thanks for the nice comments and for reminding me about WGA. (why can't I send you messages on your PM?) Ezequiel and Victor thanks for the continued support.
