Server Issues, plus On A Dark And Stormy Night update As you've noticed if you tried logging in this morning, we experienced a pretty bad bout of server issues. I don't know what to attribute them to. All I can say is that I've had a LONG morning, ..... .. heh.... lots .. lots of fixes, it felt like the site had to be done over. Maybe in some parts it will. I upgraded a lot of core systems, so that's good news, we should see things move a tiny bit faster. But we're still not out of the woods, as you can see there's a bunch of sidebars missing, and I bet the Call to Action features wont work, some links show unreadable black, etc etc. But at least we're operational again. I'm off to lunch, and then I'll come back and keep trying to fix stuff, cross your fingers! :)
UPDATE: I'm back from lunch, still fixing things. You'll notice I took down the post about On A Dark And Stormy Night, because of probable pending litigation, it's one of those cases where everything you say can be literally used against you in court. Find out why the featured space is out of synch with reality, bring back "My Latest Posts" block to the right side bar, as well as a whole bunch of other blocks, test the Call to Action feature.... etc :/

Some changes I can tell you right away off:
if you find a page that says "drupal already installed" try adding a question mark to the URL, that is, instead of going to http://www.karmacritic.com/someplace go to http://www.karmacritic.com/someplace/? (see the slash and the question mark?) That'll be the work around.
The reason why this happens is really long to explain, but if anyone's interested, here's more details: it'll be gone in two weeks :(
Another change, is that Myspace once again changed the way it displays thumbnails, and I'm sick of playing catch with it. No more Myspace in KarmaCritic, no mas! I'm very sorry to everyone who had videos in myspace, please move them to something else like LiveVideo. If I allow Myspace again, we'll get not just the thumbnail, but the whole top half of the website, and it changes our fonts, etc. Not nice. Bad Rupert Murdoch.
Another change, is that our engine version is 5.9 now, the highest we can possibly have before moving to 6. I dont want to move to 6 because its just TOO risky yet... so.. things should stay put for a while. But 5.9 is a lot faster than 5.1 (what we used to have) so we should see a little bit improvement in how fast things load.
... and... thats all! That's all I can think of for now, at least. ... see you people on the flipside, and remember to post here if you see things that seem buggy!

Lol, thanks Capitan! If I was that good our server would have not fallen down in the first place, but since it did we're doing the best we can. I'm still discovering little bugs here and there, but we're making progress!

Try refresh
Its all the cache... look, try this: next time you browse around and it tells you you're logged off, hold the shift key down, dont let go of it, then press ctrl-R. (then let go of shift, I guess). It'll force the browser to a hard reload, that is, one for the server instead of your computer's harddrive. You'll see that it doesnt ask you to login anymore and it "remembers" you're logged in.
If it doesnt work, let me know, I'll have to look for another solution.

Well, the thing is that there's a likelihood of actual litigation in the horizon, and I truly don't need to be involved in a lawsuit right now. I want nothing to do with that, so I decided to delete everything regarding that topic here in KC. Like I said, its because of a potential lawsuit.
