I kinda regret missing this one. God damn work!
I'm kinda confused by seeing Tom Jane amongst the Watchmen cast though. He was an old rumor.
You're right!
Its just an image I pilfered from the interwebz, all I did was add the speech balloon to it, but most likely you're right, I couldn't find a more recent one :)
Although, to make up for it:

Someone please buy Mike
Someone please buy Mike Tursi a copy of the Watchmen graphic novel immediately. If you read it, you wouldn't be saying that on the radio.
I just read the whole series again
Yesterday. I sat down, and consumed all 12 issues again.
Man.
Rorschach.. he's my hero. I think he's the best ever comic book character I've ever seen. and I love him. I idolize him, because in his world, there is absolutely no ambiguity whatsoever between right and wrong. He knows -exactly- what must be done, and by gods, he tries, even if he knows its hopeless. Man.
That said, I hated the ending.
That said, I feel like sharing this song, just because of awesomeness that is THE WATCHMEN:
(Morricone is a Deity)
You HATE the ending?
You HATE the ending? Really? Is it just because.... You know....
But look at the very last page. In the very end you think Veidt has won and his story will never be exposed. There is a shot of Rorsharch's journal at the end with a newspaper guy about to go through it, looking for a major story to write about. Then there is the last line from his editor. "I leave it entirely in your hands."
So maybe at the end, Rorsharch may be down for the count, but there is a possibility that he does win at the end. Vedit's plan towards Utopia will be exposed cause "Nothing ever really ends."
Ambiguity!!
Rorschach would have hated the ending too, you know, according to the story he gives the shrink, he liked the fabric of his mask/face, because the ink was either black or white, never grey.
And this ending was most definitely grey.
Granted, from a literary point of view is beautiful. Because, what I expected from this, being a comic, was that Doc Manhattan would use his literally god-like powers to reverse time and prevent the bad thing that happened. And yes, I was prepared to call that a copout, and then I was prepared to say, hey, its a copout, but at least we have a happy ending!
But no.
Damn Alan Moore stuck to his goddamn guns and let us have it, the god agrees with the madman, who pragmatically speaking, was right of course, and indeed "the smartest man in the world", and we chumps are stuck seeing how the only guy who never compromised his values in the grey morass that is the universe, gets charred instead of the bad guy by the godlike powers.
It just stings man...
But hey, i never said it was a bad ending. Its a good ending. I just said I hated it :)
Rorsharch obviously seemed
Rorsharch obviously seemed to want to die too. The tragedy of that size proportion was enough to heal the world, and everyone seemed to accept it no matter how wrong it was.
I don't think the Utopia lasts though judging by the last panel of the book.
Good point
Rorschach never belonged in that world in the first place. I say he was too good for it. I remember the opening lines from his journal, where he fantasizes that some day, all the crooked people would look up and shout to him, "save us".. and he would look down and whisper.. "no".
MAN.
No wonder they put those lines in the trailer.
I'm just geeking out to all things Watchmen lately, here, I have this song on permanent loop:
And it helps me write the comic I'm writing right now. Man, does music help.
"The 'citizen kane' of superhero movies"--- Empire Magazine
It's curious how this song happened to be the BATMAN & ROBIN main theme... (you know, that crappy batnipple shit)and it perfectly describes the story of Watchmen, I hope Zack Snyder saves it for the main credits... have you noticed Billy Kurgan looks like Dr. Manhattan? lol well, Charlie Brown does too... anyway.
Words from the beard himself, Alan Moore
"Every deep being needs a mask to exist" - F. Nietzche
I will be like Alan Moore
And then I'll shave :)
That said, he does a pretty damn good reading of Rorschach's lines, and I see that I was more or less right about my guess of why Rorschach wouldnt belong in that world anymore; he just couldnt.
Very nice interview.
As for Billy Corgan, well, he makes a pretty good Nosferatu also:
I like him :)
P.S. I forgot, during lunch time today I saw the same reference, "The Citizen Kane of comics" but in the latest TIME magazine. Which, btw (hello Turz!) named it in the top 100 novels of all time :)
Oh very bad news regarding
Oh very bad news regarding the soundtrack and the song that will be at the end credits. Very bad news. I'm contemplating on whether or not I should post it for you guys or if I should spare you.
OUT OF HAND!
Wild
Wild-
WILD!
I really wish that there was a way to keep everyone from speaking over each other. It sounds messy. It was def a funny show though!
