My hat is off to your talents, Captains Peceno and Xarach. It truly is.
Look, EZ wont get angry with me for saying this, because I've said it before: THE HOUSE OF THE SMOKING GUNS wasnt the best short he's ever written. But you guys took it, and elevated the whole story, without adding a single line!
The whole sequence where Loco kills six pistoleros but not seven... that helps so much explain the legend of the House of the Smoking Guns. To see Loco drinking the blood of the bartender, explains why Loco killed the bartender. And the ending, where Loco and his McQuade ride away, because they're brothers, heck, makes sense. All these additions and editorials, truly took this to the next level. You are Pirate Captains.
Acting was very good. The costumes were perfect, the settings were perfect, everything, I loved it.
I can see where you'll fix the audio in the future (make the gunshots sound like real BOOMs instead of CRACKs for instance) and I would probably do a super slow-mo on the guy falling from the balcony to hide the fact the balcony is break-away foam, all those things can be given make-up via aftereffects, in fact, that's what I would do, I'd go to town with aftereffects during the whole first sequence. Make it sepia instead of b/w, add other artifacts, maybe the one called "Gold Dip", "Light streaks", "random light leaks" would go a long way.
Anyway, you made a STORY. You made a cool looking, consistent, logical story, and I'm really impressed by your talent, captains. Very very good job you guys.

When we started looking at the story the first thing we wanted was not to copy the film as it was on the script, because we thought that we must put some of our souls into the film. We wanted to make our film, but based into EZ history, and we knew that EZ would love the tweaks and adds into the history!
So, we brainstormed one evening and added the sequences to the script, and we loved the way it resulted, so we went ahead to film!!! Other ideas simply appeared during the shooting and we applied them.
The whole experience was really interest and I learned a lot from the experience, and from my pirate mate Victor. We had our moments of hard fighting, getting angry and so... because we're tough Captain Pirates, and not always we got to an accordance, but the important thing is we progressively got to balance, and we finally managed to co-direct this movie in a pacific manner, hahaha.
I also, publicly recognize that I'm sometimes an obstinate and difficult guy regarding to directing a movie, but I will not be a director neither a pirate If I weren't that way!!
Many many thanks to the advices about the final touchs to the movie, I've thinked about applying some further effects to the movie, but we were'nt that sure, because we wanted to keep the story as clean ass possible. I already had used after effects to clean some 21st century things away of the image, but haven't seriously experimented with a more elaborated look, I will give it another try!
The sound, has really to evolve a little more, and I will be doing it soon, you have the reason, the shoots are sometimes a little weird, I will see what we can do!
In resume, I'm (and I'm sure Victor is) very proud that you liked the filmed and very happy in this Karma Ship, collaborating together, and WE will stay here for a loooong time, until the ship sunk and beyond! :)

Yeah Lady Parker! Luckly the set at Sioux City is almost perfect but we had some air conditioning machines, signals and shop windows,, that were really nasty. We tried to avoid them in almost all the shots but when we had the perfect shot and something was out of place, we decided to not sacrifice it, and remove what was out of place in post.
I remembered the producer of Bad Boys II, talking about the lucozade bottles the grips throwed to the grass and fucked off a lot of shoots, in the closing escene of the Cuba House. Hhahaha he was really pissed of and got angry with the team several times... so funny hehhehe

I always have a lot of problems with zombies and beer bottles. It's always "Ready? Beer bottles down! Action!"

That would be totally cool! But we must have some team or at least have some money to rent the park exclusively, I wouldn't mind to do it like we did it, Mariachi Style way! and pirate way! The only little problem is the evailability of the park and the actors... but it's perfectly doable in a near future...
Victor always told me to make a feature during the shooting, hahahha, he was always saying, ey David, let's keep shooting and make a feature film, hahahhaha, In that case I put a weird face, and told, Victor you're mad!!!! hahahaha
