Chick Flick Rebellion II 06/20/08 Chick Flick Rebellion II OK so just watched a great Chick Flick. It’s Jane Campion’s In The Cut. This film may have a crossover appeal as it’s got Meg Ryan naked. And it’s also got Mark Ruffalo. Naked. Beautifully so. As in completely. And we women get to see it. Thank you, Jane Campion! I’d seen the movie before and got it off the shelf just for the heck of it. Then when it came to the sex scene, I had completely forgotten about it. It is so well done. Beautifully shot. The Cinematographer ( Dion Beebe http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0066244/ ) uses something called a swing tilt camera for part of it. The focal point is narrow so part of the image is out of focus with another part being in focus. The effect is magical. Makes me want to learn how to use that camera. Apparently it’s been around for a long time. Just checked the IMDB page of Dion Beebe. He was DP for Collateral. I used to work with Stuart Beattie, the writer for that film. Is that 6 degrees of separation? I couldn't fix the old one.... that phpfreechat thing never really worked so well... buggy as all heck. I replaced it with something a little bit more manageable, give it a try. Its still experimental, I dont know how to deal with the archiving of messages, for instance. But yeah, give it a try, it should work once more.
