Finally, ATW: Bloodline is Online for Viewing in Full

frightymcgee's picture

Anyone who wasn't able to check out the movie from our downloadable iPod version can now check out the movie on IMDB. Jerod got an invitation from Without A Box to post the movie on IMDB and so we did. Just hit the IMDB website and do a search for A Thousand Words: Bloodline, hit the link and it's at the top of the page for the movie. Or you should just be able to hit this link here:

http://www.imdb.com/video/wab/vi2652241945/
.

So far I've not had anyone have a problem watching this but for one person using Firefox and probably not having the latest version of flash installed. Oh, and it seems they don't have an embed function (which isn't surprising) so I can't post it here.

I just found out through

I just found out through IMDB that we got into the Ultra Violent Magazine Vol. 9 Independent Roll Call article. I have no idea what it says if it's a mention or something more like a review, but that's pretty cool that whatever it is shows up on IMDB now. I ordered a copy of the mag, I can't wait to see it. For good or bad, press is press.

FINALLY

I finally got to see your work. I so apologize for it taking forever! And I didn't want to watch it in pieces. And I liked. I think you have a lot of talent!

You know what I really liked? That it didn't feel like some little flickers flick.

I remember you telling me that your next thing was to do your feature. I strongly suggest you just go for it. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Do it Mr. Frights! DO IT!

Thanks so much for the

Thanks so much for the support and vote of confidence Ezequiel. I'm glad you were able to check it out and enjoy it. I really respect you and your advice and I'm working hard on getting this final peace put to bed, but also working on the feature so it's ready to go.

I know I took my time by putting out the trilogy in short form, but it taught me a lot about the story and I think the familiarity with what works and doesn't work will go a LONG way when it comes to making the feature. I feel like we've made the right mistakes when it was ok to make them and that learning experience to me is priceless and makes me want to move on to that bigger project even more.

I pay close attention to what you say and others and I respect a lot of it and take it into consideration. I'm very thankful to have jumped on board here at KC and for all the people who have contributed so much. I hope that others pay as much attention and learn from the things that you all offer up. It's priceless!

Thanks again man, it means a lot!

NO NO NO! THANK YOU FOR SHARING BROTHA!

Thank you for the kind words and thank you for sharing!

And yes you are right! Be critical of yourself and make your mistakes NOW! The film gods know I've made mine, and the film gods certainly know that I made some on my feature. Well, at least things that I feel I could have done in different ways or better. It's good to study your own work and kick yourself in the ass a few times.

My only other thing for you now is this. BE CAREFUL OF WHO YOU WORK WITH. There is a lot of good people out there. But there is always ALWAYS a crooked person. If something in your gut tells you that something is wrong, DON'T IGNORE IT.

We all had this feeling during the making of our film. And our gut instincts were right.

Also, when doing your film, listen to your team. That's why they are there--to support. If they suggest something and you don't like it, then don't use it. If you like it, shoot it.

But here is the way I do it. I get EXACTLY what I want first. If there is time, then you listen to suggestions. But trust yourself. DO NOT SACRIFICE YOUR VISION for someone else's thoughts. I know it sounds asshole-ish, but it isn't BECAUSE IT IS YOUR FILM. But check it man, I trusted my cast and crew so much, that I did listen a lot to what they had in mind--but the difference here is, that I spent so much time with them in conversation months before the shoot, that everyone was on the same page and understood each other. So everybody was working within the confines of the director's vision and coming up with great stuff--and the director (me!) was so excited to work with these people because they were already there. so it really makes a big difference to take all the pre-production time possible. All the character work with your actors. Conveying your ideas to your DP so that he could move at thought's speed.

And most of all man. Be a leader. Lead your team. Be strong. Shit will go wrong. It always does. So be quick with solutions. Don't stand around and think about it if a light blows. If a light falls on someone's head, call 911, let the paramedics handle it while you set up another shot. haha

And most of all, make sure everyone respects you. If they don't, you will lose them and your set will fall apart.

Check this out. I remember I had this meeting at FOX with Debbie Liebling (Dodgeball). She really likes my writing, we talked about what was next for me and what I really wanted to do. Of course, I told her I WANT TO DIRECT duh! She makes a fist and makes it tight--she asks "are you like this?" I didn't get what she was asking me. She asks the same question again drawing my attention more to her fist. I finally got it and said, "YEAH, I DON'T FUCK AROUND". She smiled and said good cause that's how you have to be.

Money and time isn't cheap.

So, Mr. Frights. Strap on your battle boots. Prepare to get dirty. AND BE THE FIST.

Good luck to you man. Keep us updated on your progress and share the experience!

I finally got around to

I finally got around to watching this. Pretty cool stuff. I liked the idea for the plot. You said you were going to be making this into a feature?

frightymcgee's picture

Thank you for checking it

Thank you for checking it out and thank you for the compliment.

Yes, the full plan is to develop and complete the story in short form then expand into a feature length trilogy.

The third piece is what I'm working on now. In fact we just got done shooting half the final scene today and should be done with the other half within a month. I'm already half way through the first round editing, I should be done with the other half within a week (if I can stay on task).

We also have a rough outline of the first feature (on note cards split out by plot points and segments of the story - Act 1 - Act 2 - Act 3 etc.)
