If You Want Blood, You've Fuckin' Got It! We've gathered here in this foul year of our Lord '08 to spread the word, and the word is legs! Spread the word!! Ah yes. No, we've come here to celebrate that most reviled of genres; the horror movie. Why, I hear you asking. Why would we want to give this arrogant beast of a genre our attention when we could be watching all sorts of other, more uplifting, more emotionally redemptive films. To that, my answer is, "The Argument"; Please open your hymnals to The Book of Big Sugar and read along. At first, there was nothingness. Then, the Cosmic Muffin shat us into existence. And gave us cars. And breast implants, and fleshlights. And it was good. But, not satisfied with simply giving us the proper tools to mastubate with, the Cosmic Muffin blessed thrice more with movies. And as such, gave us horror movies. Thus the world made fucked up. And it was still good. Can I get a Good God Damn!! Horror films have the most dedicated, most rabid fan base of any genre, period. You tell me; ever seen anyone with the characters from The English Patient tattooed on their back? I didn't think so. Go to any Weekend of Horros and you won't be able to escape the people with Freddy or Michael or Jason inked all over them. And yeah, I know some people out there talk about how blood-and-guts isn't their thing. However, am I the only one to notice the central conciet of that piece of shit Chicago? Two chicks get famous by murdering their husbands. Then comes the scene where they prance around in neglige screaming about how "he had it comin'." Half naked chicks shreiking about killing. Yeah. Then there are those who point to how manipulative horror films are, as though Tender Mercies was somehow above reproach on that fuckin' score. But the worst accusation, the absolute final straw from those who condemn horror movies is that they appeal to the lowest common denominator in society. This is elitist fucking horseshit. And anybody that wants to discuss that can come and fucking get some, baby. If giant, gelatinous blobs can stand in the fuckin' stead of the communist threat, then too the knife and chainsaw weilding antics of our favored icons can stand as the metaphor for a culture fallen to distrust of itself. Or, lest this fuckin' shit get too high-minded, horror flick always seem to have top-notch tits in 'em. As the case may be, Amen, and a good Goddamn! So, we come here to celebrate the genre that, for all intents and purposes, is the outlaw among all film divisions. The rapist and pillager of genres. The big swinging dick of the film world that fucks people consistently. If ever there was a singular kind of film for pirates, it surely must be the horror movie. We have to remember one very important thing here. John Meredith loves to learn, and he doesn't bullshit about it or anything else. We must respect that. Sure, I agree, that Meredith's films aren't there yet---but were our first films any different? I know that my first five films weren't nothing to go crazy about.
I'm asking you as a Captain to support and not discourage.
Brad has proven himself over and over to not prove himself. E.A.P. is ok. OK. I want Brad to prove, to not all of us or anyone else, but TO HIMSELF.
And Captain, YES, your films are much better everytime. I hate to say this, and not to slam on Brad, but your films are better. And one the reasons I can say this with no doubt is because your work impresses me, you don't bullshit, and you keep making films. Brad does not do this. He talks.
John Meredith has made more short films in the last two years than Brad has. Might not be that great. Sorry John, it's the truth---you have to develop your craft more--but in saying that--Meredith is doing something and learning.

I finally saw Tetsuo today,
I finally saw Tetsuo today, and when looking through the DVD features I discovered there was a sequel. Sugar, I was wondering if you had seen the second one and have any comments on whether or not its as enjoyable as the first one.
I enjoyed the film by the way. It felt like Eraserhead and Videodrome together on crack.

Man, It's been a long time since I saw Body Hammer, but as I recall, it was vastly inferior to Iron Man. First, he didn't seem to go quite as nuts with the camera. Man, what a battle this time....!!
Here is how I see all this...
I have been on Karmacritic since a year and a half, and since the first day I have seen this kind of battles between Pirate Captains... I have always taken it like funny stuff, cause I know most of you have thrown ton of shit into somebody else, and then called by phone "in person" and talked about the issue without happened anything...
So where's the key into this.. The key is, and I have learnt that in all my years at Internet, that.. Internet must only be taken seriously if things are positive, in the just moment things turn bad... FORGET Internet, and fix the things in person/phone, but... In the Real Live.
And really Karma, is a fucking wild place, because we're mad people following the same dream, and we're all trying to do it in our own way. What is the right way... the right way is the way that works for you and for what you want, that's the right way.
We're fucking wild pirates, and we're going to fight thousand and one times between us, because fighting is what we do every second of our lives, and fighting is how we know to achieve things... We can throw a Mountain of shit, of the size of the Everest into the others. But we're going to help a fellow filmmaker that need help for finishing his work. I have seen that thousand of times here, and I'm sure 99% of us, we will do it without an eyes blink... At least is what I will do, whenever I can, and it's what I try do always.
I have fought with my Ship matey Captain Peceño, thousand of times! He has thrown shit on me and I on him, but we have a STRONG common dream, and we know that we WANT and NEED to help each other to achieve that, cause we love CINEMA, we want to make CINEMA, and a simple fight, matters of ego, or stupid personal things, are not going to ruin what can be a really positive and productive relationship.
So what really matters is what we make, and what we make to allow our fellows make their things, not how we make it, not when, and not how many...
