Camera GuyA tale of madness told via surveillance equipment.... and who do you think its watching? BTW, I did not use surveillance cameras, cellphones, laptops, etc, just because it was cool, or for mood, or style, etc, nope. I'm glad people see those things anyway, but thats not why I did it.. There's a very specific story-related reason why I did that... hint: pay close attention to the confrontation dialogue and think of the 4th-walll. Have fun :) My role(s) in this film: Director Writer Producer Cinematographer Editor Actor Submitted by FableForge on April 21, 2007 - 11:01pm. |

You seem familiar!

That was great. Held my interest the whole time. You really captured that... "big brother is watching".
Then the (silence of the lambs) ending. At least that's what I felt.
Great job! ooh this feels good.

Thanks Stallion!! I was going for both those feelings, its awesome they did go through!!
Hehe, the comparison to Silence of the Lambs is an honor, really :)

I really like this film, Plays much better here then at OTL...LOL Keep up the good work... Love the style of the piece.
Thank you Brad and Jessica!
Thank you Brad and Jessica! I think the OTL version spoiled the film a bit with my cheesy dreamy intro :) lol, this one is straight for nitty-gritty...

I guess I don't really get what happens totally, but it held my interest for sure. I'm guessing it's saying something about the new age of all these cameras everywhere, and the people who watch it all.
Kule!
I feel like I'm a trained, well oiled, security guard now! Thanks Marco and good job.
Still love this one....
But then again I'm very biased as I'm in the film. I think one thing I would change in this one, now that I see it again after a while, is the audio. I think we lost a piece of the story with poor quality audio. But I guess there's always something. As the saying goes, an artist's work is never done.
On to the next one!

Wow. Pretty tight and clever. Nice transitions between the different angles, definately more effective than straight cuts. I agree the audio could be a bit more clear...though it could just be the compression. Good performances too...playing a convincing madman is never easy.
I FINALLY SAW IT!
I really loved the editing! It's a great "stand alone" piece. I think the only thing for me is, I wanted to know more about the Camera Guy. Just one line of exposition might have set him up a little more that would have had the viewer at least build some sort of curiosity. And I agree with some of the other comments--it does keep you glued to the screen! To me it felt like--I found the surveillance tape and was watching what had just happened a few hours ago.
Coolness!

Man, you saw it, I cant believe it, heheh, excellent!!!! And hey, now that you said you wanted to know more about Camera Guy, here you go:

My biggest regret is that the conversation between Camera Guy and the Visitor was not very clear, audio wise. Cuz all the clues were there man, all of them... if only I had had a better microphone! Aw hell... it is what it is. But you can still read the conversation in the link above.. there's a lot of clues as to who is the -real- camera guy.. the one watching both the man in the cell and the visitor. . .and everyone else! :) Its fun.
Appreciate that you took the time man, thanks :)
