A Wolf Walks By

Evildirector's picture

The Full-Length Theatrical Trailer to the independent film A Wolf Walks By, with music from the motion picture soundtrack. This was made by and with the faculty and students at Crosstimbers Academy, a school for at-risk teens in Texas. The story follows the school's true attempt to start a six-man football program.

I found it inspirational

Then again, I'm usually the type to just eat it up, this kind of genre, but .. what are you gonna do... I feel heart strings being tugged seeing things like this. And I want to add, the filmmaker works in this school, and this story draws from real life.

Very nice work.

Btw, if you have a higher quality version I would recommend putting it in Revver, it gives a little better quality, specially in the high motion scenes.  Great work though.

 Thanks, I'llcheck Revver

Thanks, I'llcheck Revver out.  What would be your opinion on posting a longer film, such as a full-length film like AWWB or Nothing More Than Ordinary?  YouTube, Revver? Episodes? Etc.

Go for it!

I think posting longer films here in KC would be great!

But it limits your options as far as video providers, you see, Revver and Youtube (I dont know about Myspace) only support 100 meg uploads. To get something longer than 10 or so minutes under 100 megs would begin to sacrifice quality. So then your other choice is Google Video, which supports up to 300 megs. That should be decent enough for something 30 to 45 minutes long, and still look OK. Give it a try! :)

Full Distribution Options...

You should check out the American Film Market...which I think is coming up soon. It's perfect for pitching complete films for sale. In fact, Hollywood is more likely to buy a completed film than a completed script.

I have another option in mind, but let me look up the name of it and I'll get back to you. Something I heard about about six months ago that gives retail distribution at Blockbuster, WalMart, etc.

Hannover House

The Distributor I heard about is called Hannover House.

http://www.hannoverhouse.com/

From the person I heard about it from (back in December of 2006): "Hannover house distributes and keep a portion for their work. I think
it is 25%. It is a fairly good deal as I keep all the extra rights.
[I spend] Nothing up front."

Oh, and this year's American Film Market is November 1-11, at its usual home: Santa Monica, CA. It's a film festival and a place to "pitch" your film to all sorts of people, all rolled in to one. I heard about it from a Producing friend of mine. He has a unique strategy about the AFM though, that I guess isnt what most people do when there. Not really sure what that is though. haha.

No problem

Awesome. I'd like to see the full thing. I just saw the trailer. I'm not in to sports, but knowing the background of the film, and who is involved -- this is cool to see kids learning art and academic subjects together. It's perfect for showing kids that art and life can mix, and it brings history alive instead of the typical thinking that history was just names and dates of people with no personalities.

I really look forward to Ceaser too. That is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays.

 An actor by neccessity,

An actor by neccessity, not choice.  In CAESAR, I think I can finally stay behind the camera (and out of the Robe...)
