I'm only too happy to keep digging for glimpses of the imminent, unstoppable future.

This is, as historians call it, a paradigm shifter. A revolution of such magnitude that many of the Old Rules will no longer apply. A great equalizer, that'll force a lot of people to restart from near scratch, and will give others a chance they otherwise would have never dreamed of.

I predicted that old actors would be brought back to life using digital motion, and that came true in the commercials here:

Next I predicted that technology would get cheaper and more powerful to the point where you no longer need those little tracking balls on the actor's body to do motion capture, that came true here:

In fact, in less than 10 years.... lonely geeks will have virtual Angelina Jolies all of their own to chat with... and more in their own computers. AI, most people don't know this, but AI is very... very advanced. Trust me.

Hey guys, I'd been in Karmacritic since this started up, almost a year ago? wow, time flies indeed. And this is my first original submission to the site, I feel a bit ashamed but... I think this is my bushido, the way of the animator. Animation requires a lot of time and work, and I mean a LOT.

This is the 'mexican project' Marco and I are working right now. It's suposed to be a secret but what the hell! I feel happy about how the demo came out (this is part of a pitch pack for the full project) and I want to share it with you. I can't tell too much about the story, but involves mercenaries, the mexican revolution and a father seeking for redemption. This is the world premiere of ESPIRITUS DE FURIA, 'spirits of fury'.

A preview for the upcoming project BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT

A reason why I love AAA anime films is because the expresiveness the creators put on every single frame. Seing a famous occidental character like Batman being interpreted by the japanese POV is really amazing, I can't wait to see this.

Lost Word Temple: 3rd prize at Creanimax!

Hello Critters!

Well here are the big news (at least for me): LOST WORD TEMPLE won the 3rd prize in the International Videogame section of CREANIMAX 2007. Not bad, considering they recieved 19 projects from all latinamerica and spain. Prizes mean nothing, but unfortunatelly (or luckily) you need some of them to knock doors and let them talk more about your work. This is not a movie making related, but fits inside the entertainment industry and it's enough for me. BTW, the guy who gave us the trophee was one of the designers of GEARS OF WAR, can't remember his name right now (duh!)

I lend you some snaps took with my cel cam, sorry about the low res ;)This is a WACOM screen tablet, the ultimate weapon for digital art. You can draw literally over the monitor, and rotate it like a normal light table. Impressive!

The INTEL stand, they showed the nearest thing to the batcomputer you'll ever find, an INTER CORE 2, the fastest rendering machine ever. Just look at the inside, it needs somekind of freezer liquid to mantain the temperature!

Hello again! following the tone of Hasta los Huesos, I want to post this one too: EL HEROE, directed by mexican CARLOS CARRERA. This shortfilm won a Golden Palm at Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first mexican to get this award if my memory doesn't fails (I already mentioned him on previous blog posts)

I love the animation technique, it's very dinamic and beautiful, as well as the story. The same, I couldn't find a way to contact Carlos Carrera so if he is reading this, I invite him to join KC too! Enjoy!

Hello Critters! You know I work with animation but until now I didn't upload anything related with Yojumbo! and The Invention of the Homunculus because crappy out of context stuff that keeps me out of the line. But that doesn't mean I can't upload stuff I like from other people I admire.

This short film is called HASTA LOS HUESOS and was directed by mexican RENE CASTILLO. I haven't found a way to contact him directly so he could upload this by himself, but it's already on youtube and if Rene is reading this I invite him to join KC club! Enjoy!
