Hey guys, I'd been in Karmacritic since this started up, almost a year ago? wow, time flies indeed. And this is my first original submission to the site, I feel a bit ashamed but... I think this is my bushido, the way of the animator. Animation requires a lot of time and work, and I mean a LOT.

This is the 'mexican project' Marco and I are working right now. It's suposed to be a secret but what the hell! I feel happy about how the demo came out (this is part of a pitch pack for the full project) and I want to share it with you. I can't tell too much about the story, but involves mercenaries, the mexican revolution and a father seeking for redemption. This is the world premiere of ESPIRITUS DE FURIA, 'spirits of fury'.

Graphics Reel

So here is a reel open I used in the past, before changing my color scheme.

I spent enough years on an oxberry shooting motion graphics, so I figured I'd have some fun. A little After Effects, and later Digital Fusion, and a nice little open.

Did the sound as well. it moves faster on the a TV screen, but it seems to drag here on the small internet screen.

I can still remember those nights programming the Motion control computer, and running the Oxberry, and doing pass after pass after pass. Garbage matting the kodaliths, and all those wonderful Cynexes -Like sheets of stained glass.

Slusho Zoom!! (with robots)

My (somewhat rushed) submission to the Slusho! competition. It's a toungue-in-cheek thing. The challenge was to make a 30 second to 1 minute long "commercial" for a non-existent drink called "Slusho!" which may or may not feature in the new J. J. Abrams produced film, "Cloverfield" (which has had the best viral marketing campaign I've ever seen)! The prize is a fancy laptop, but I did it as a "senior project" to myself. I'm teaching myself Maya (which is REALLY hard) and trying to get work as a compositor WITHOUT going to film or art school, so it's nice to have projects to give me a bit of direction. Some of the images come directly from the slusho! website (which they gave me permission to use), but I made almost everything from scratch and even acted (bleh!) in it. It was originally shot in HD at 24P, which was a fun little technical challenge for myself...

Anyway, this is what I've been doing for the past couple of weeks, whenever I've had free time (which was next to never). Someone over at Bad Robot is getting a good laugh starting a competition at the start of Hannukah and ending it four days after New Year's!
